You are free to bring in your own alcohol to give away as long as a licensed bartender serves it. If you would like a cash bar, you are free to find a properly licensed vendor, or work with our partner.
You are free to chose a caterer off of our preferred vendor list. The caterer must provide full service. You may request a caterer, they must be licensed by the health department in the county in which they primarily operate. Our favorite caterers' pricing typically run $9-18 per person for two mains, two sides, bread, salad, tea, and lemonade. Many Caterers are from Clinton and Terre Haute Indiana or Paris, Marshall, Effingham, and Hume Illinois.
While we will work with you for your wedding ceremony to be where you would like it, many clients use either the yard overlooking the creek bottoms, the pavilion, or the barn with the reception.
Both restrooms in the barn and one restroom with the changing rooms have changing stations for children. The restrooms in the barn continue the rustic charm that is popular in wedding venues.
Clean up tends to be a breeze. We ask that you gather the trash into our containers (unless you make arrangements for us to take care of the trash), and take your belongings with you. Our wedding venue staff will take care of all of our stuff and we will sweep and take out the trash.
The Mill does have an assortment of decorations that is included with full day rentals pricing and they are set up when you arrive for your wedding, but you don’t have to use our items. The decorations include: two antique settees, whiskey barrels, lanterns, uplighting, fabric curtains, large spools, aluminium troughs, vintage doors, rustic lanterns, boxwood, eucalyptus, lambs ear, greenery, Christmas Trees, mirrors, wood cookies, glass jars, table runners, cake stands, glass plates for a dessert table, portable entry doors, windows, fairy curtain lights, uplights, and requests are accepted.
There are two dressing rooms in the wedding venue for you to use to get ready for your wedding. One of the rooms has counter space and mirrors for five seated at once and a three way mirror. There are also two single stall bathrooms by the dressing rooms.
The barn comes furnished with tables, banquet chairs, linens (white, black, or beige) high boy tables, a portable stage, a portable dry bar, coolers, drink dispensers (for tea/lemonade brought by your caterer), and a water dispenser. White resin folding chairs are used for an outside wedding.
The barn does have an automatic backup generator, so you will always have lights, water, and outlets, even if the utility service is down.
The barn does have five furnaces and air conditioners.
The barn has two kitchenettes for your caterer to work out of. There is refrigeration and a sink available in each kitchenette. There is ice to get your bar going.
If any of your guests gets a little tipsy, they are welcome to leave their car. We do ask if we have an event the next day that the car is removed by 10 am.
There are mathematically 90 parking spots on gravel , but there is extra parking available on the grass. With our soil composition and tile, we aren’t too concerned about it being too muddy if we need some grass parking. The gravel parking does have lighting that is turned on when guests are on the farm.
The barn has two three stall restrooms for you and your guests.
The farm is equipped with solar panels to make the venue greener.
The barn boasts over 6,500 square feet of entertaining space. The pavilion has 2,400 square feet of space. (which is often used for ceremonies or cocktail hour) We have hosted weddings up to 288 guests. We do have furniture for more. There are sides that can be put on the pavilion in the event of uncooperative weather. The corner of the farm which the barn sits on is 3.5 acres before it slopes toward the creek. There is plenty of space for you to utilize. The grounds with mature trees offer picturesque views all year round.
It’s your day. You decide what time you want the barn on full day rentals.
We provide trash bags and trash containers. Mondays our containers will be emptied, so you don’t have to worry about taking trash with you.
You are free to choose your own vendors, but if you need help we can give suggestions. We do reserve the right to refuse vendors. Caterers must be preapproved.
